Brunch board

An impressive brunch board is an easy way to gather several favorite flavors on one platter and serve them beautifully with minimal fuss. This one features warm green asparagus, eggs, hard cheese, bacon, mini carrots and a delicate herb sauce. It's perfect for a late breakfast or a relaxed weekend.

Ingredients

  • 150 g thick yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 10 g dill or green onion, finely chopped
  • salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 500 g green asparagus
  • 4 hard‑boiled eggs, cut lengthwise into quarters
  • 200 g hard cheese, cut into triangles
  • 50 g bacon, sliced
  • 100 g mini carrots

Preparation

  1. For the sauce, mix the yogurt or sour cream with the mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice and herbs. Season with salt and pepper and chill in the fridge while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

  2. Snap off or trim the tough ends of the asparagus. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan, add the asparagus, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. On a large board or plate, arrange the egg quarters, hard cheese, bacon and mini carrots. Add the warm asparagus and place a small bowl of sauce alongside.

Notes

💛 The sauce can be made ahead and kept in the fridge until serving.

💛 Don’t overcook the asparagus — it should remain bright and slightly crisp.

💛 A braided loaf (pletenka) or multigrain bread pairs well with this brunch board.
